Students in the Fashion Design program at the Iceland University of the Arts transgressed traditional fashion boundaries in their graduation exhibition on Thursday, mbl.is reports.

The fashion show, which featured gender-neutral and gender fluid clothing, aimed to “bring gender-neutral fashion design to the present day in a multicultural society,” said fashion design professor Lind Björg Árnadóttir. “By showing gender-neutral clothing and designing dresses for men, to mention but a few things, the nine fashion designers that graduated yesterday did their part to break down walls on the basis of gender, culture, and race,” she explained.

This year's nine graduating students were all women. Women typically account for the majority of students enrolled in the program says Linda; men typically account for only 5-10% of the fashion design program's enrollees.
